But I can't promise i'll keep this up but wanted to blog and let everyone know i'm still alive lol! It's been a long hard winter huh? I know some of you have sure had it rough. Hubby & I are still battling health issue's but by the grace of God will survive.

It's so good to finally see sunshine. Our first grass cutting was Saturday our sweet SIL came & cut it for us. The pollen count here has been very heavy thus keeps hubby from being able to be outdoors to much. It effects his breathing severely. Me, well i'm loving this weather I truly cannot get enough of it. Of course the mornings are still nippy but enjoyable. I had the dreaded shingle's over Christmas which made for some very long days of not getting anything done. If you have ever had shingle's then you know what I mean. I had mine on my face, left side & top of my head it was a terrible pain & rash.

I am so glad that Spring has Srung so to speak, the flower's are popping up all over my flower bed. Of course my grass is all weeds but it looks good cut lol. This weekend I saw the hummers for the first time this season. I decided to put my feeders on my back deck this year instead of my front porch. For the past 2 years my Crepe Myertle has been effected by some sooty blacck fungus caused by aphids poop yip that's right. But even tho I treated them the disease still almost killed the tree, & a bush so I believe that the sweet juice from the hummingbirds has some sort of effect so I'm trying something new I sure hope it work's.

Well this is all I have for now I am going to try & visit some of you today & try to catch up. I hope you all have had a blessed winter & Easter.

Hugs,

Linda

Merry Christmas to All...

I am sorry I have been away for as long as I have. A lot has been happening & hubby & I both have been very sick it started right after fall hit & I am hoping & praying we are over the slope & headed back to normalcy lols. I am going to try to come here more often.

Well this week has been another trial for us, will this year ever end? Hubby had an abscessed tooth & and emergency abstraction. Which put him out of work for the entire week. Well his off days were today, & Friday. He met with the Dentist today to talk about possibly a bridge, or a partial plate. Well both for us are out of the question right now being the prices were outrageous & our dental Ins. isn't that great. So right now he will just have to live without certian teeth. Really you can't see it unless he really grins big lols. It is in the lower front.
This year monies have be tight & we are trying to be realistic about what to spend & what not too. I pray things get better soon. I am thankful that all my shopping is done, we aren't buying for each other. We do not need anything. I mean that. We are blessed & have all our needs. We pay our bills. We don't have a lot of extras but we are satisfied. I don't mean to sound disappointed because i'm not. I am very thankful. The Lord has been good to us.I have checked my list twice & I do believe i'm done. I just finished today buying the rest of our finger foods. I have quite a few things I will be making Saturday so all will be set up for Sunday around noon. Bob has to work on Christmas day, & Christmas Eve. I do have to pick up a ham for then but I have time to do that next week. He will still be able to visit with the kids Christmas Day. Whew, that wore me out! I hope your all ready for this holiday season. It's hard to believe it's so close. Time is just flying by! Well guess this is it for now, oh btw the weather man has been saying we may see snow showers Sunday oh I hope we do!

Here is my Christmas decor before our gathering on the 21st with the extended family. Max our dog played Rudolph but instead of a red nose he had a red eye lols. No really he has one blue eye & one brown eye but the blue one shows the red eye lols!
<img style="BORDER-TOP-WIDTH: 0px; Let's see. I am still working on my craft room slowly but surely. We have the big cabinet up & mounted & have already started on the other ones. I have moved out some of the clutter & am going in the morning to purchase a new mattress & box spring as Big Lots is having a Labor Day sale buy the mattress & get the box spring for 10 cents best deal so far. The weather here in Flintstone has been fantastic. 70's and so cool what breezes, it is just so hard to believe that fall is right around the corner this keeps up & i'm pulling out the fall decor just watch & see lols! He couldn't move it at all. We were there for 3 1/2 hours he ended up getting a shot & some potent pain pills. It was xrayed & the doctor said it was probably from the carpel tunnel. He had the surgery on his right hand in 2007 but he will probably have to have the surgery on the left hand. He is currently on the phone with the surgeon's office as I am typing this. So needless to say all projects are almost to a halt! However we did work a bit on trying to get a cabinet put together for my craft room which is still a work in progress. It never fails that something always gets in the way....ugh.

The weather here is wonderful, it's 72 and very low humidity. Just beautiful. I have to go to the grocery store this afternoon & pick up a few items as we are low on everything. Well not much more to mention I am going to post the progress of my room and you can get the just of how things are coming along.

For Metamorphosis Monday

These are photos of the cabinets that we have to put together for my room. They will go along the wall as you enter the room. The large cabinet is the one we are working on and remember these are not wood. They are like press board, however the doors are made of some sort of hard plastic that looks like wood. These types of cabinets have this card board backing, I have decided to leave it off. Hubby will mount it to the wall & you will be able to see the pretty wall color when you open the cabinet. It will be nice when & if it's ever finished....lols.
This is a picture of the big cabinet that we are currently working on. I do want to update about my craft room but it's very hard to stay on that project when hubby works second shift ugh...but I have purchased my cabinets which will be on one wall oh they are very nice but hubby & I have to put them together (oh my we may be devorced by the end of this project hehe). Also I still haven't gotten the bed project done yet, I will have to admit that I have been on Facebook much of this time farming, yes I said that right I have discovered farmville, & farmtown so if any of you out there are farming we need to become neighbors...look me up Linda Barger. These games are addictive I kid you not! Anyway I am not farming much today I have a whole wall to finish paint so hopefully next Monday a new update...stay tuned?!

Have a blessed week,

Linda

Craft room progress

Last night was a long restless night. I'll start from the beginning I started painting on my craft room yesterday which in itself is quite a challenge for this ole fat gal! I am doing around the ceiling & the woodwork first I find this to be the hardest part as I have to get on the floor where I have placed a tarp and scoot around on this big behind of mine! Yeah go ahead laugh I did! And then I have to stand on a 4 ft. ladder and reach and do the edging well you know you all have done this I know? Well, I am taking my time as I am not in a hurry. Needless to say I was very sore. And I was so tired that it was very hard to go to bed. So I played on Facebook a while in Yoville, Farmville, & now Farmtown as my niece Tiffany ask me to be her neighbor so I go ahead. Anyway, I decide to go to bed at around 2:30 a.m. & just as I close my eyes in rim sleep this irritating beeping starts. Hubby is still up playing Wii Tiger Woods golf we are kids at heart lols. Anyway he is thinking it's the fire alarm that's connected with the ADT system. You see we have ADT Security & when we bought the house it was equipped with 4 smoke detectors that are run by power & have a battery backup. Well, after he calls ADT & finds out it's not that alarm he then realizes it's the others. Well it's the one in the hallway where our bedrooms are located. Ok, so he takes the old battery out & it uses a 9 volt we had 1. Well wouldn't you know the one we had was dead! Because that dad blame thing beeped all night long! Poor Max was scared to death he climbed under my side of the bed and we had to shut our door to drown out the noise. I was afraid to drive to the Walmart as I was so tired as well as hubby being he worked second shift so as soon as I got up I threw on my clothes and rushed to Ace Hardware & $20.00 later silence...whew it's true when they say silence is bliss because in this case it was even for poor Max who wouldn't come back in the house until the noise stopped.

Anyway I do have some update photos but mind you I am no where near through. Oh btw when I went to Home Depot to get my paint which I love this color to me it's so shabby chic. Hubby said, "Is that the color you wanted?" I said, "Yes, it's exactly what I wanted." back to my story while at HD I saw some great cabinets for really cheap bucks. They stand about 36 1/2 inches tall with 3 drawers, I thought it would be great to get 3 of them & place a top across all the way to the wall by the window and use that part for my desk and where the drawers are would make a great work space. Can you tell how excited I am! The color is called "Botanical Tint" I love it!

The first one is coming down the hallway, & the 2nd one is entering the room.

I still have a few things to sort & get rid of but that's part of it huh.

Well that's what i'm doing at the moment. One thing that I was a bit disappointed about was Home Depot has quit carrying crackle paint. However I did find some stone textured spray paint in cream color & I bought all they had which was 6 cans that stuff was $10.00 a can. So i'll have to go back & buy primer. And if I get the walls
done this weekend I will work on the bed next week. I am still looking for a twin mattress set. I cannot afford to buy a new one right now so i'll keep looking on Craigslist.

Ok, guys I guess this is it till Monday. Hope you all have a great weekend.

Hugs,

Just a normal day

I can't believe school starts here on Thursday August 6th, time sure is flying by. Thought I would update you on some of my rose's there all bloomed out again. I love this pink one I added it at the first of the summer. I woke up feeling pretty good this morning then it seem just like that I got very achy & nauseous I really want to go to Home Depot today & pick out some paint. I need to get started on painting the bed frame & I haven't decided yet if I am going to paint my walls or not. They are a cream color & I thought I could ad color with accessories. Still not decided. That red rose bush I planted last year from a 1 gallon pot it sure has grown. These are the Knockout rose's they say you don't have to bother with them, but the middle one i'll show I have had to cut back twice as it's leaves all fell off & the stems started turning brown...weird. But it has come back & is in bloom. I also have one by my mailbox which it gets peed on by every passing dog...lols..& Max included! But it is still thriving. When my sister died in 2006 one of my dearest friends gave us a double blooming azalea & I planted it by my mailbox & well it couldn't take all the dog pee & it died..ugh. This time of year I am swarming with hummers & I am having to fill their feeders 3 & 4 times a week it gets ridicules, they will hover at my window as if to say hey where's our food!? When I live at the old house I would see maybe 3 hummers but since we moved here in 2006 I probably have seen about 40 I kid you not! They will sit all in my Crepe Myrtle & I have tried many times to get a picture of that but they know & fly off heck! I got a few pics of one or two on it. I got one but you have to really look close as the hummer is out of focus. & I did get a few flying around one of the feeders but I wish I was good enough to capture all of them lols. I just don't have the patients.

Today will be very hot & humid here right now it's 86 our high is suppose to be 95 whew! I did lots of laundry yesterday & I still have some throws to wash so guess I better get so I can do those things & get ready to go to Home Depot hope you guys have a blessed Tuesday.

In every picture I noticed a hummer behind the feeder!

btw the last post might have been a bit confusing so I wanted to add that I didn't buy the milk glass on my outing Saturday I already had it & had decided to sale a lot of it & several folks was asking me to show pictures of it so I added them in on that post. We had a great time going from store to store. I had decided that I wouldn't buy items I just didn't need. I am a huge nic-nac person. But I have so many things I need to get rid of but don't have the heart too.

Do you remember me telling you about the mattress set I found on Craigslist. Well I wasn't able to get it from this lady as she would always have an excuse for the times we tried to go get it. Then we had 2 days of rain & I left her messages but no return calls from her & she got to where she wouldn't answer my calls, how weird? She is the one who advertised it goodness, then she acted like she didn't want to get rid of it. Well now I am on the search again for the twin mattress set. I know I will find one as I see them advertised all the time. Anyway while on our ladies outing I found a gorgeous comforter set with, comforter, sheets, 1 set of curtains, & bed ruffle all for $12.50 oh & a valance whew I love it. Also I found 2 sets of twin sheets. I found a beautiful picture signed by a local artist "Ben Hampton", I have several of his prints framed & I know how expensive they are. This one is 10 x 14 framed and I think the name was "Evening Lilies" I purchased it for $1.50 oh my I was so excited. I found a little piggy that is suppose to be a set of salt & pepper shakers. Last year I had a terrible time with some kind of black soot that covered my Crape Myrtle & I go out side a few days ago & see this sticky looking sap all over the leaves of the plant. I then go out this morning & at the other end of my landscape next to the front of the house is a Crape Myrtle bush & it's covered with that ugly black soot, this just irritates me I have some mixture I purchased from a local landscape store. The man there said this was caused by aphids poop! There must be a zillion of them dang things all over those bushes. I sprayed them down but hope that it didn't effect the hummers as they sit in them a lot. Of course I see them out there fighting thats all those little buggers do! I just feel that I put a lot of time & money in these bushes but all I get from them are headaches. I am thinking that I need to place my hummingbird feeders further away from the house? If any of you know what causes this I would welcome any info.
So I went to my friends house yesterday and I bartered with her, I ask her if she would like to trade her old twin bed foe a couple of big plants that I had on my back deck. & she said yes, woohoo. I will take some pictures soon. I am going to go to Home Depot & check on some paint. I want to speckle paint the bed so I need to find out how? It's a metal frame bed painted brown. I want to speckle it with a cream/ivory color so the brown will shine through. Hubby says I will need to prime it? This is all new to me. I also want to do this same process with a cabinet that hubby made me about 6 or 7 years ago. Any advice would be appreciated. I am so getting excited about this project you all will get tired of hearing it, but you'll enjoy the photos leading up to it! I was suppose to go & pick up the box spring, & mattress this morning but it was drizzling & we didn't want to risk getting it wet. So I called the lady but no answer. I left her a message & still I haven't heard from her so I may lose out on this deal...ugh! Well not much more happening so i'll go for now have a blessed evening.
~Linda~

I started over.

Well I have had a rough time trying to get my site up & running again. It seems that my old blog had a problem when I sign in to the templates & no matter what help info I was given it would not work. So I decided to create another blog. I hope this doesn't confuse anyone, however I was very confused! I am still a work in progress but at least I can navigate now. I am about to start a journey on creating a craft room. I loved looking at all of your different styles. I got so many ideas from each & every one. I am very excited to get started. Now I must come around & visit so you all will know where to find me now. We have had rain over night & throughout today. I actually got caught in it after leaving Walmart shopping for groceries this morning. It felt pretty good since all weve have had is hot weather. Of course I must say this years temps have been mild compared to last years. My mom called last night & said, "Have you noticed that we have started getting darker earlier?" I said, "Yes, I did notice that." It's hard to believe that fall is just around the corner.
